I am trying this out as something new. Hopefully it will work.
For some reason it does not automitcally create hyperlinks when I paste stuff into the little box here. If anyone has any code for that maybe you could post it in the comments. I will have to see if i can figure it out for myself. If any of these links don't work it is probably because I had to manually make them links.

[supporting the troops, even though it is partially a re-run.]
Our victimized soldiers don't have forever, though. With the same absolute certainty of the Atomic Clock the US Government uses to tell time, the constant ticking of the "atomic disintegrations" (little bullets) starts the countdown to death from radiation poisoning for the soldiers and civilians alike. It's just a matter of the dose of lethal poison they received. A greater dose equals less time.
It gets worse. Captain Terry Riordon unknowingly brought radiation poisoning home with him from Iraq to his wife, Susan Riordon. As recounted in the November, 2004 issue of the mainstream Conde Nast publication Vanity Fair, Mrs. Riordon was constantly burned by her husband's semen during intercourse.
..
With her husband slowly dying of radiation poisoning and in intense pain herself, Mrs. Riordon resorted to filling condoms with frozen green peas to use on herself to obtain relief from the internal burning's intense, excruciating, lasting pain. Other couples do that and other wildly frantic and imaginative measures seeking relief. The burning can leave blisters and contamination.
...
So, what to do? It's all right there, in US Army Regulations, according to Maj. Doug Rokke, Ph.D. Ret., the former Director of the Pentagon Depleted Uranium Project. U.S. Army Regulations AR 700-48 and TB 9-1300-278 require the Army to "Clean and Treat." The Army is required by US law to treat all persons affected and all areas contaminated by the radioactive uranium munitions. There are no ifs, ands, or buts.
...
Dennie Williams' breakthrough CommonDreams.org article of November 11, 2004 sets the record straight on the US Military's view of using and cleaning up after illegal uranium munitions. "The Department of Defense 'does not clean up DU [depleted uranium weapons] once it leaves a U.S. weapons system such as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle and hits an enemy building, or vehicle', said Melissa Bohan, an Army public affairs official.

[i think i wrote before, someone calculated a dollar in like 2001 bought the same as 5 cents in 1913, since then the dollar has declined a lot. i bet it is down to like 2 or 3 cents by now.]
The obvious question that Greenspan was avoiding was this -- If Fed "management" of the nation's money is so expert, even without the discipline of gold -- why has the purchasing power of the dollar been declining year after year, decade after decade? And, of course, that's the one subject that Greenspan doesn't want to touch. So the slow, systematic destruction of the dollar and the nation's savings goes on. Maybe that's the real reason why Americans save nothing today. And maybe it's the "hidden" reason why Americans are buying houses rather than (or as a substitute for) gold today.

Under the disciplinary order, Wittkopp cannot resume his medical practice until he complies with the demands of the board.

Craig Murray is a very undiplomatic diplomat. Former ambassadors are supposed to be tending their flowers in Home Counties gardens, but this one is not. He is, instead, making extraordinary allegations, the most damaging of which is that Britain is using information obtained from torture to imprison people indefinitely. So convinced is he of the truth of this and other claims that he plans to stand against his former employer, the Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, at the general election.
...
Mr Murray was Britain's youngest ambassador when he was appointed to Tashkent in mid-2002, and it did not take him long to realise the nature of the regime. Despite the collapse of the Soviet Union, the old Communist Party boss, Islam Karimov, remains in charge of a Stalinist dictatorship which treats all devout Muslims as potential subversives, and has been known to boil prisoners alive. A couple of weeks after he arrived, the new ambassador attended a political trial, at which he met an old man. "Two of his children had been tortured in front of him until he signed a confession on the family's links with Bin Laden," he told the Foreign Office. "Tears were streaming down his face. I have no doubt they had as much connection with Bin Laden as I do."

Until now Britain had appeared untouched by CA-MRSA, which is distinct from the healthcare-associated strain. It is causing public health concern worldwide, particularly in the United States, where it has swept through prisons, military units and sports teams. It is spread by skin-to-skin contact, especially between people sharing towels or playing sports which can cause skin abrasion, such as American football or rugby. It has also been spreading among homosexual men in San Francisco. In some areas of the US, it now accounts for more than 70 per cent of MRSA cases reported.

On Kwajalein metal supports holding the interceptor rocket failed to disengage. If it had been real the enemy nuke would have hit its target. The system has now failed in six out of nine tests. Many experts believe it simply does not work.
But this does not deter the Pentagon. It is in a frenzy to put a missile shield around America. The threat from nuclear attack is now once more at the centre of strategic planning. The missile defence shield is not seen as a throwback but as a vital part of defence. Nuclear weapons too remain in US plans, it is now looking at developing a whole new range of 'bunker buster' nukes.

Once a loan is established, the simple reporting of late payments (even if they are not late) prevents the victim from being able
to refinance the mortgage or getting out of the PMI policy. The borrower is locked in a cage and only the loan servicer has
the keys. It should not come as a surprise that two of the largest operators of these schemes are actually owned by mortgage
insurance companies.
There are laws against providing erroneous credit data, but even if they were enforced (and they rarely are), the servicer has
the simplest of solutions: Process the payment as late. If the borrower goes to the trouble to use traceable delivery and has
proof that the check was delivered on time, the answer is to apply a fee or charge and credit those first, leaving the principal
and interest short. Once again, the mortgage is effectively late, and it will be at least 30 days before the victim even knows it.
What most consumers don't know is that servicers even use notifications from the credit bureaus to determine if their
borrowers are applying elsewhere for refinancing. The servicer is in a key position to act to prevent losing the higher-interest
loan by ensuring a payment or two is reported as late.

[ i read an article once about how some israeli guard post could hear the palestinaisn digging a tunnel under them, but they couldn’t find it or stop it. it sounded like the scene from monty python and the holy grail where they go into the woods to build a trojan rabbit and the french are looking all around trying to figure out where the chainsaw sounds are coming from. notice in this story the israelis are working on all these sophisticated electornic gizmos to stop the tunnel builders. meanwhile the palestinians have already worked out a cheap and easy solution- pump the tunnel full of raw sewage.]
Since the start of the second Intifada, tunnels dug beneath the Gaza Strip have become an underground highway for Palestinian militants and their weapons. "Israeli security forces have uncovered more than 100 tunnels, some as long as 800 meters, as deep as 15 meters" in the last four years, Defense News' Barbara Opall-Rome notes.

The suit follows complaints filed by Alperin and Keller in January with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, in which they gave identical reasons for why they were fired: "I refused to expose my breast to perform acts of bestiality with one of the gorillas."

"Anthropology is going to have to completely revise its picture of modern man between 40,000 and 10,000 years ago," said Thomas Terberger, the archaeologist who discovered the hoax. "Prof Protsch's work appeared to prove that anatomically modern humans and Neanderthals had co-existed, and perhaps even had children together. This now appears to be rubbish."
The scandal only came to light when Prof Protsch was caught trying to sell his department's entire chimpanzee skull collection to the United States.

The university is investigating how thousands of documents lodged in the anthropology department relating to the Nazis' gruesome scientific experiments in the 1930s were mysteriously shredded, allegedly under the professor's instructions.

The vicious avian flu that has killed dozens of people in Vietnam, Thailand, and elsewhere in the region "has caused the deaths of hundreds of millions of animals in nearly a dozen Asian countries" in the past two years and could kill millions of people if it becomes capable of spreading efficiently among humans, Michael Specter reports in "Nature's Bioterrorist" (p.50), in the February 28, 2005, issue of The New Yorker.
"No such virus has ever spread so quickly over such a wide geographical area," Specter notes, and, unlike most viruses, "this one has already affected a more diverse group than any other type of flu, and it has killed many animals previously thought to be resistant.

During his last term, FDR was known to be suffering from hypertension and congestive heart failure. Mr Salerian believes that this led to hypoxia - a shortage of oxygen to the brain - and subsequent cognitive impairment. "Mr Roosevelt was not receiving enough oxygen to his brain tissue," he told The Independent. "It's not easy to function. As result, his intellectual and cognitive abilities were compromised."

What Iraq's insurgents are telling us, by raising this example, is that they are in this for the long haul – and that, if the U.S. is looking for a purely military solution, it had better be prepared to fight for the greater part of a century. But their determination is tempered by realism – a characteristic they share with at least some of their counterparts on the other side of the negotiating table.

The 8-Bit Construction Set record is also the first ever use of the vinyl recording medium for software distribution - the inside tracks are audio data which can be dubbed to cassette tape and booted in your respective atari or commodore 8-bit computers (guinness world record for first-ever vinyl-to-software programming is currently pending). and, as if you still had doubts about these artists' chops, you should know that this record was entirely programmed in 6502 assembly language. beat that.

A frozen sea, surviving as blocks of pack ice, may lie just beneath the surface of Mars, suggest observations from Europe's Mars Express spacecraft. The sea is just 5° north of the Martian equator and would be the first discovery of a large body of water beyond the planet's polar ice caps.

[thank goodness we live in a capitlist society where private property is sacred.]
On Tuesday, the court will hear an appeal from Kelo and about a dozen other holdout owners of property near Fort Trumbull State Park. They are trying to prevent the city of New London from seizing their land to clear the way for a private development project that would include a hotel, a conference center and offices. The city has argued that redeveloping 90 acres along the river and near a new Pfizer research plant would give a much-needed economic boost to the city of about 26,000 people, where the unemployment rate of 7.6% is about twice the state's rate.
...
Kelo and the other property owners involved in the case say the city's plan does not represent a "public use" for the land. The city disagrees and says all the town's residents would benefit from the project.

Malecki said Saturday night, "This will be a very, very aggressive internal investigation. So far we believe this information has not gone beyond the health department. It was an obvious error in a secured technical environment."
She said the list was "surveillance information" that allows the health department to track HIV/AIDS individuals "to protect them and the public."
