Verint Systems, a subsidiary of Israel's Comverse Technology announced that Metronet Rail has selected Verint's networked video solution to enhance security of the London Underground, according to an Israel21c report.

After extensive testing of Verint’s networked video system, including pilot installation on selected rail lines, Metronet Rail selected it to be installed on the entire Underground. The system will enable security personnel to monitor passenger platforms and certain remote portions of the track.

I don't trust theories that would involve MI5, CIA, FBI etc. These are big organizations. The Mossad is a small organization, and it is tribal and located in a small isolated country. They can keep things among themselves

Astronomers have found a new world orbiting the Sun. The giant lump of rock and ice is larger than the planet Pluto and is now the farthest known object in the solar system.

The discovery was announced by US scientists yesterday and the object has unofficially been named Xena, after the TV series starring Lucy Lawless. 'We have always wanted to name something Xena,' said Michael Brown, a member of the team that made the discovery using telescopes at the Palomar Observatory, outside San Diego, California.

Preliminary observations suggest Xena - officially known as 2003 UB313 - is an extremely strange world. It is currently 9 billion miles away from the Sun, roughly 100 times more distant than the Earth, and is now about three times more remote than Pluto. At its present distance, the Sun will appear so small in the sky it will almost be indistinguishable from other stars.

Even before the July attacks, CCTV had proven its use in solving high-profile acts of terrorism. In 1999, there was a brief reign of terror in London when a series of nail bombs exploded, apparently aimed at the city's black, south Asian and gay communities. By plowing through some 26,000 hours of videotape, the police were able to find pictures of a man carrying a bag as he approached the site of one bombing and leaving without it. They quickly released an image of him. A 22-year-old fascist sympathizer named David Copeland was soon identified by a co-worker and later convicted for the murder of three of his victims.

Some crooks have wised up to the possibility of being caught red-handed, as one detective explained to me when we discussed putting a camera in my mother's house. He once had a lovely video view, he told me, of a truck pulling into a farm yard and turning round to make its getaway -- but the thief had covered the license plate and pulled a hat down over his face.

But many reject the party's control over Christian practice and doctrine, and these are seen as a threat. After all, 80 million members would mean there are now more Christians than Communists in China.

Few believe that many of the party's 70 million members keep the faith burning any more.

This year the Politburo made it easier for churches to register, but at the same time launched a wave of persecution of those which refused.

Zhang Rongliang, the head of the China for Christ Church, said to be the biggest with 10 million members, was arrested last December and remains in prison. Scores of pastors and followers have been held, along with Roman Catholics, including underground bishops.

A diplomatic row has erupted between Russia and the United States after the ABC TV network ran an interview with Moscow's most wanted man, the Chechen warlord Shamil Basayev.

Russia was outraged that ABC had felt it acceptable to broadcast such an interview and accused Washington, and the West in general, of double standards when it came to fighting international terrorism.

Moscow said the interview allowed a self-confessed terrorist and murderer to openly threaten Russia and publicise and even glorify terrorism.

"The fact that such an authoritative national channel has acted as a mouthpiece for a person who is accused of, and who in fact admits that he has tried to achieve his own ends in such a way, by seizing hostages and peaceful people, is very sad and causes deep regret," Dmitri Kozak, President Vladimir Putin's point man on Chechnya, said.

A former British intelligence agent, jailed in 2002 for linking the British government with paying an Islamic militant group $160,000 in a failed assassination attempt on Colonel Mu'ammar al-Qadhafi of Libya, said this week the recent London bombings have all the earmarks of an inside job just like 9/11.

"It's amazing how many aspects of the two events are so similar," said David Shayler, the former MI5 agent and whistle blower, in a telephone conversation this week from his home in East Bonn on the southern coast of England.

The federal government suffers from a “severe disinformation syndrome” in which agency specialists are pressured to alter reports by managers who are promoted for breaking the law, according to congressional testimony delivered today by Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER). As a consequence, scientific and technical papers, particularly within environmental agencies, are routinely censored, altered or manipulated for political purposes.

The United States is developing a nuclear plan to attack military bases in Iran, said Philip Giraldi, a former CIA intelligence officer.

Giraldi said that the U.S. nuclear strike against Iran would take place after a 9/11-style attack on the United States, and that the planned attack would be analogous to the unprovoked invasion of Iraq.

As usual, Pat Buchanan reveals the hidden purpose: “Today, "free trade" is about something other than the simple exchange of goods. "My former husband George, who is a trained assassin, calls the people he is involved with the members of The Firm or The Brotherhood. If you are in the click, you are above the law and literally can get away with murder. For years, mostly when he was drinking, he told me how he and others in this elite military group would kill people," said Griggs, as she mentioned name after high-powered name and story after-detailed story about sexual pervasion, murder, military hit squads, brainwashing and mind control, all activities sanctioned, participated in and condoned by a group of military and political elite.
...
Griggs said other recognizable names and major players she learned from her husband's arrogant ramblings besides Wolfowitz and other nondescript military and civilian names, involved in what she called a Zionist global takeover, included Donald Rumsfeld, George H. Bush, Dick Cheney, Henry Kissinger and Andy Fine, to name a few.

And I don't believe I should ever keep quiet about who they are because the only way we are going to change there behavior is to shed light on what they are doing and show how ludicrous , sick and inept their behavior really is.
...
"My husband George just idolized "Rummy" and thinks he is just wonderful when basically he is nothing more than an in-the-closet-Nazi. Also, George liked to brag how he and Wolfowitz were down in Indonesia in the 1970s, down there training young assassins.

This has, in turn, distracted editors normally preoccupied with more mundane concerns, like suppressing details from surfacing (or surfacing prematurely?) of local Congresswoman Katherine Harris’ sybaritic and lipstick-smeared local past.

“She was the local ‘pump,’” one Sarasota physician-cum-socialite told us unbidden (if indelicately) before launching into salacious anecdotes which are apparently common knowledge in certain circles, featuring conduct unbecoming representatives claiming to uphold traditional family values.

This also may explain the Bush family's current antipathy for her. They're in a position to know, to put it delicately. (But even a casual observer would say that the "lipstick-smeared" part comes as no surprise.)

On Wednesday, July 27, the Knesset approved an amendment to the Citizenship Law which is intended to prevent family reunification between Arab citizens of Israel and Palestinians from the Occupied Territories. The law also applies to Palestinians from East Jerusalem who marry residents of the Occupied Territories.

This is a racist law, which forbids Israeli citizens or residents married to people from the West Bank or Gaza, from living with their spouse inside Israel, or in East Jerusalem. From now on, only Palestinian men over the age of 35 and Palestinian women over the age of 25 will be able to request family reunification.

All other Palestinians will not be able to enter Israel and live with their spouse. By contrast, Israelis who marry residents of any other place in the world will still be able to request family reunification for their spouse.

". . . Lawrence distilled six fundamental principles of insurgency that even today have remarkable relevance. First, a successful guerrilla movement must have an unassailable base - a base secure not only from direct physical assault, but from attack in other forms as well, including psychological attack. Second, the guerrilla must have a technologically sophisticated enemy. The greater this sophistication, the greater this alien force would rely on forms of communications and logistics that must necessarily present vulnerabilities to the irregular. Third, the enemy must be sufficiently weak in numbers so as to be unable to occupy the disputed territory in depth with a system of interlocking fortified posts. Fourth, the guerrilla must have at least the passive support of the populace, if not its full involvement. By Lawrence's calculation, 'Rebellions can be made by 2 percent active in striking force and 98 percent passively sympathetic.' Fifth, the irregular force must have the fundamental qualities of speed, endurance, presence and logistical independence. Sixth, the irregular must be sufficiently advanced in weaponry to strike at the enemy's logistics and signals vulnerabilities."

Israel's obvious enemies are mostly Sunnis. If you're going to be fighting Sunnis, the obvious trick is to create a new ally, a Shi'ite empire consisting of Iran and Iraq. The minor annoyance of Iranian support to Hezbollah is far outweighed by the advantages of creating a new and very powerful player in the Middle East, a player who, for religious reasons, probably hates your enemies more than it hates you. 'Greater Israel' can extend all the way to the Euphrates over Sunni lands, and your new friend may even help you (it will be a much bigger challenge heading towards the Nile!). In connection with this, watch the American media to sharpen its distinctions within Islam and concentrate on the fact that 'terrorists' are mostly Sunnis.

Tashkent has also made some serious allegations. The Uzbek Foreign Ministry has hinted that Americans might have precipitated Andijan events as "tit for tat" for Tashkent's decision some months ago to place restrictions on US aircraft operating out of Karshi-Khanabad airfield in Uzbekistan. Computer scientists recommend that all voting systems have a paper ballot that the voter can view before casting their vote.

This is called a Voter Verified Paper Ballot. The ballot is kept by election officials for recounts and audit purposes.

Worldwide, more than 100 million women - about 10 per cent of all women of reproductive age - currently use combined hormonal contraceptives. Commonly known as "the pill", but also administered through patches and injections, the treatment prevents pregnancy by stopping ovulation and thickening the mucous of the cervix so sperm cannot get through.

Combined hormonal contraceptives can cause weight gain, breast tenderness, depression and a decreased interest in sex. But it has also been shown to reduce the risk of noncancerous breast cysts, infections of the fallopian tubes, iron deficiency anaemia and ectopic, or tubal, pregnancies

Because no machine can unerringly recognize when a person is lying, and because its results are unpredictable and inconclusive, polygraph results are not admissible as legal evidence in the United States and many foreign countries. But don't try to tell this to the CIA, which attributes almost mystical powers to the polygraph. To give you an idea of what went on, let me tell you about the polygraph and how the CIA used it on me.

The polygraph test is based on the theory that there are physical reactions to lying which can be consistently identified and accurately measured.
