We want our junk food

Brace yourselves, this is where it really starts to get freaky. In her countersuit, Anderson claims that the Settlement Support Center acknowledged the probability of her innocence, but informed her that should she refuse to settle, the RIAA would proceed with a suit in order to discourage others from attempting to defend themselves against unwarranted litigation

While the findings have no practical implications at present, if confirmed they could be useful in clinical diagnoses of whether a person is pretending to be sick.

They could also help in criminal justice settings by helping police determine if a suspect is lying, and in pre-employment screening.

PAGAN priests will be allowed to use wine and wands during ceremonies in jails under instructions issued to every prison governor.

Inmates practising paganism will be allowed a hoodless robe, incense and a piece of religious jewellery among their personal possessions. They will also be allowed to have Tarot cards but are forbidden from using them to tell the fortunes of other prisoners.

The guidance, issued by Michael Spurr, the director of operations of the Prison Service, makes it clear that Skyclad (naked pagan worship) will not be permitted. Prison staff have been told that pagan artefacts should be treated with respect

The thing is that many households here publish such journals that replace common correspondence. Such journals usually provide information about the hosts’ good or bad health, family news, different thoughts and comments, small inventions, invitations to receptions.”

However, Odoevsky, a prince and a wealthy man, could not imagine people taking so much bother to keep their acquaintances updated on their daily affairs. He suggested the job would be carried out by the butler.

If a man is given extra punishment because of his thoughts, which may or may not have been motive for his crime, then pretrial discovery must necessarily include finding "bad" speech to support that extra punishment; it involves interviewing his friends and co-workers, inspecting his library and video rental records, determining what newsletters and magazines he likes and any organizations he belongs to, in order to establish what he might have thought before and during his crime. It requires Gestapo-like searches by Thought Police.

The eventual result of such legislation will be prosecutors rifling the personal thoughts of any white suspect alleged to have perpetrated a crime against a minority person.

Nevertheless, former cattle rancher Howard Lyman (madcowboy.com) and others of integrity, point out that every night over 10,000 cattle go to sleep in the US...and don't awaken in the morning. And no one is doing necropsies on them to find out why they died...they are usually just quickly carted off to the rendering plants and converted into everything from pet food to fertilizer for your garden. Some farmers just 'scoop, shovel and shut-up' as a means to get rid of dead and downer cattle

What I fear most for the future of our country is that our leadership seems to be developing the same arrogance that doomed the British Empire.

In early 1941, the British general in charge of the Far East scoffed at the idea that Japan would attack. The Japanese wouldn't dare, he said, because they were a subhuman, inferior race. That same year, Winston Churchill likewise said that the Japanese would not dare attack the British Empire. The Japanese were, he said, the "wops of the East," thus insulting two peoples in one sentence.

The Japanese, who were then and are now among the most brilliant people on Earth, did attack the British Empire. They sank the very battleship on which Churchill made his statement. They completely defeated the British in the Far East in 11 weeks, capturing more than 100,000 British soldiers and officers. It was the largest, most humiliating defeat in Britain's history.

There's a heart surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic who has taken a stand and said, "We want McDonalds out of this clinic. We want these junk food and fast food restaurants out." But the staff there is against him. They say, "We want our junk food. We want our diabetes-promoting, heart disease-promoting, cancer-causing foods. It's our choice." They want this stuff. Gosh, I hate to say it, but have you ever been in a hospital and looked at the health of the nursing staff? I used to volunteer in a nursing home. I have seen it first-hand. These are not the healthiest people in the world, not by a long shot.
